On June 24, 2017, Assistant Professor. Dr. Sisikka Wannajun, Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Mahasarakham University has received a prestigious national award, Khon Dee Sri Siam, in the category of excellence in the education development and management for the year 2017.
 
The award presentation ceremony was held the Chulabhorn Research Institute. Bangkok and presided over by General Phichit Kullavanijaya, Privy Councilor for King Rama IX. General Phichit Kullavanijaya presented the awards to the award recipients in order to honor and express gratitude towards those who carry on the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s legacy by doing good deeds and work for the benefit of others.
